Angry Samba Problems

I am setting up a samba server the problem that I have is that when I restart the smb service I get a message saying

shutting down SMB services Failed
shutting down NMB services Failed

Also when I look at the Samba Status I get a message saying

smbd is stopped
nmbd is stopped

I also try starting and stoping the service and I get the same problem.

Could some one please tell me what I am doing wrong

Thanks alot

Chamkila

I fixed the problem by

go into SETUP then going to system services then find smb and start it by hitting the space bar.

I also tryed ./smb start and it did not work, not sure about that.

Hopeful this should help some one else.

./smb would only work if you're in /etc/init.d already... ./means your current directory.

ok so there wasn't an entry in rc[3/5].d fair enough
