Exactly that, there is a PDC at that address and WinNT domains only support a single PDC. You'll either need to stop Samba trying to become a PDC or you'll need to demote your current PDC to a BDC.

Nope, LDAP is simply a directory where you can store lots of different information about things (users, systems, etc, etc). You can store user info like passwords in an LDAP server which can then be used by Samba and other systems instead of flat password files but this doesn't replace Samba in any way.
