Samba PDC

I have a Samba 2.2.2 PDC up and running, but it's using roaming profiles (I guess this is the default). I don't want this. I only want the profiles to be stored locally, but I still want the domain users to logon and acquire authentication through my Samba PDC. Is this possible?

TIA>

Using Samba as a PDC it expects roming profiles. There a real pain because of hardware and software inconsistencies.

You can trick Samba (or NT) into using local copies. Profiles are stored on the net and locally. If no network profile exists the local one is used.

Create a profiles directory as root and do not give access to any users. Profile will not be written and the local one will be used. It works great, no error messages or warnings of any sort.

Got it working. Just had to comment out a couple of lines in smb.conf and change from roaming to local in Win2k on the System Properties/User Profiles tab.
