I have seen this problem posted various places on the web, but can't seem to locate an answer.

Here's the setup

RedHat 9 (running samba, apache, mysql)
192.168.1.10
|
|
192.168.1.1
OpenBSD firewall -> ISP
192.168.2.1
|
|
192.168.2.xxx
Windows boxes

Windows PC can ping RH server, can access samba shares by putting \\192.168.1.10 in IE but can't see them in Network Neighborhood.
Anyone know if this is possible or not? I have read that NetBios isn't routable, I've heard that samba can span subnets. Not sure if I am wasting my time trying to get this to work. I don't really want to add another server to my setup.

Oh yeah I previously had the RH server and Windows PCs on 1 network and Samba worked beautifully (prior to seperating network with firewall)

certainly would be esaier if samba box was on the same net as the windows boxen, is there any reason to seperate them?

netbios doesn't do routing but you could proably work out the rules to do this through your firewall, but it seems like a lot of work for not much gain.
