samba mounts in fstab

Hi, I seem to have run into a brick wall. I am trying to place a mount in fstab so that when I boot, my smaba shares are mounted for me. While I have been able to mount the share via the command line, I have not been able to get it to work via the fstab. My guess is that it stems from the fact that I have spaces in the share and when the fstab file is parsed it does not accept the escape characters. Is there some way that I can have the drive loaded at boot in either the fstab or another way? Here is my fstab in case there is an error in it that will let me mount the samba share at boot.
Code:

# This file is edited by fstab-sync - see 'man fstab-sync' for details
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 /                      ext3    defaults        1 1
LABEL=/boot            /boot                  ext3    defaults        1 2
none                    /dev/pts                devpts  gid=5,mode=620  0 0
none                    /dev/shm                tmpfs  defaults        0 0
none                    /proc                  proc    defaults        0 0
none                    /sys                    sysfs  defaults        0 0
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01 swap                    swap    defaults        0 0
/dev/scd2              /media/cdrecorder      auto    pamconsole,exec,noauto,fscontext=system_u:object_r:removable_t,managed 0 0
/dev/scd1              /media/cdrom            auto    pamconsole,exec,noauto,fscontext=system_u:object_r:removable_t,managed 0 0
/dev/scd0              /media/cdrom1          auto    pamconsole,exec,noauto,fscontext=system_u:object_r:removable_t,managed 0 0
/dev/fd0                /media/floppy          auto    pamconsole,exec,noauto,fscontext=system_u:object_r:removable_t,managed 0 0
//rabi-en-rose/120\ gig\ drive /media/rabi      smbfs  user,rw,iocharset=utf8,uid=500,gid=500,fmask=775,dmask=775,credentials=/home/zurvan/smb.pass 0 0

Thank you,

You don't just need 'auto' in there?

...smbfs auto,user,rw,...

Zurvan 04-17-2005 09:42 AM

Ahh, yes. That would make it an auto mount, but that still does not seem to fix the issue with the fstab spliting the share name when it comes to a space.
Thank you,

Try:

//rabi-en-rose/120\040gig\040drive /media/rabi

better yet, would be to avoid spaces in your share names ...they're quite the headache ;)

Bingo, that is it!!

Thank you for your help. All I had to do was use the \040 as a space and it worked. Out of curiosity, where did you find the answer, I tried google and man mount, and neither had that as a solution.
