Hi,

I am trying to connect CentsOS 6.3 to a Windows 2012 domain via Samba.

Using: System -> Amdinistration -> Authentication to join machine to the domain.

{Join Domain} appears to work ok, 'net ads info' seems to return correct info but 'net ads testjoin' fails with:
Preauthentication failed, Join to domain is not valid, Logon failure.

Windows event log maybe provides a clue with eventid: 4625, which I believe may be caused by Samba using a password which does not meet the Windows complexity requirements.

Is there a way to get Samba to use a password that adheres to the Windows Complexity requirements?

Answer found:

Rather than using the GUI authentication tool I manually ran 'net ads join -U MyAdmin' which told me that workgroup should be 'Domain1' not 'Domain1.local'. Fixed that and now authenticates fine.
