samba log off script ???

hi there,

Just a quick question for everyone,

I want to have a log off script, just a basic batch file that will run when
a user logs off, can someone tell me how to do that?

does samba have this ability?

i think you need to give lots more information....

when a user logs off? how are they logging off? you mean logging out of a desktop environment like kde, or from a shell? you mention samba, perhaps you mean when a windows user logs off?

if your just looking for a basic shell script to run when someone logs out, then most (if not all) shells have this. your distro appears to be fc3, so you should be using bash as your shell, bash will execute .bash_logout when a login shell exits. its just a basic shell script and sounds like what you mean, but again, you need to give more information about what type of logout you want to control.

Yes, you can do this.

Make sure you've set it up properly, and you should be able to use "logon script = (value)" and "logoff script = (value)". I don't have my Samba 3 manual with me, but I'm 95% sure that's how it is done. [edit]I'd highly suggest a Samba manual if you're running Samba as a PDC. It can do many, many cool things and seems to integrate very well into an NT/2000 environment.
