Samba Issues
 

Hello.

I am having issues with my Kubunutu 21.04 samba. I am experiencing the issue where filenames are being garbled when viewing my Linux directories on windows. I didnt want to hide the files, so I tried adding the catia trick to my smb.conf file but it is not working. This is what I tried and of course restarted the samba server:

What am I missing?

Also, how do I make my shares stay on permanently?

I haven't used Samba in a long time, but maybe 'unix charset = UTF-8' in the '[global]' section? Maybe Windows/Linux are not agreeing on what codepage filenames are to display in.
