Samba issue. Sometimes cannot login by using correct user/password.

Hello,

We have about 200 workstations and as domain server we use Samba 2.5.10 server. And recently we found the issue when workstation cannot login by using correct password. Sometimes it takes about 6-8 tries to login with the same password and user. I blame on Samba. For me, it looks like Samba sometimes frozen or too busy to let anybody login.
Can somebody help me to resolve this issue, please?

Best regards,
Oleg

what kind of processor usage is smbd and nmbd using while this is happening? have you looked through the samba log files to see if its reporting the authentication failure?

D.Hawk,

Thank you for your replay.

The usage of the processor for these process about 20%. Not too bad, I think.

How/where can I look log file for Samba?

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,
Oleg

samba logs are in /var/log/samba/* and /var/log/samba.*
