Samba HELP!

I got redhat7.1 running like a charm as a server. Using Samba as a PDC everything working perfect then al of a sudden I get this error on my win98 clients: "The domain password you
supplied is incorrect, or access to your logon server has been
denied."

I can't access anything. I can't ping the netbios names of the client form the server but can ping the IP. I can ping the server by netbios name from the clients.

What happened. It's gotta be some type of netbios mask

Try putting entries in the /ETC/HOSTS file on the server for your client machines.

Or ... and I have never tried this.. but try "joining" the NT domain that you created with your Samba server. Do this in the network properties of the Win9x clients.

If SAMBA is working right, the Win9x clients will think they are joining and NT domain. You will need root login credentials to do so I believe.

I need to check my Samba book at home:

Thanks for the response. After trying everything, hosts, lmhosts, and a few wasted hours of research I went over the smb.conf for the 100th time S-L-O-W-L-Y and came across:

hosts allow = 192.168.0

Apparantly the last time I modified the file I erased the last "." and Samba did it's job and refused access. Corrected as:

hosts allow = 192.168.0. all is well again.

Although my research was frustrating, I'll have to admit it really wasn't wasted. Being a newbie to Linux, I'm now much more comfortable stopping/starting services and I know may way around the system directories.
