Samba help
First and foremost, i appoligize if this topic isnt in the right place. I am so frustrated I cant see straight. I have been battling samba for about a month now. I think I have seen every post out there for this. Here is my setup below. I have tried a million things and nothing has worked for me. This is the most current setup I have that still isnt working. I dont know what else to do. I am at a loss. I can connect to my windows machine from the Linux box, but not the other way around. I would like to do this without the use of passwords. This has become nothing more than a frustrating problem.
Router(Firewall)
Name: Knowkontrol1
Users: Admin(password protected)
Linux(FC4) Box(No firewall)
Computer Name: KNOWKONTROL2
Workgroup: WORKGROUP
IP Addressing: DHCP
Users: Knowkontrol(password protected), pcguest(password protected)
Windows XP Box(No firewall)
Computer Name: KNOWKONTROL3
Workgroup: WORKGROUP
IP Addressing: DHCP
Users: Knowkontrol(password protrected)
smb.conf file(I copied and pasted my whole smb.conf file here, thats everything):
[global]
workgroup = WORKGROUP
security = share
guest account = pcguest
[LServer]
path = /home/pcguest/LServer
public = yes
read only = no
writeable = yes
guest ok = yes
smbusers file:
# Unix_name = SMB_name1 SMB_name2 ...
root = administrator
pcguest = pcguest
lmhost file:
127.0.0.1 localhost
smbpasswd file:
pcguest:501:NO PASSWORDXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:NO PASSWORDXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:[NU ]:LCT-00000000:
nobody:99:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:[DU ]:LCT-00000000:
I guess the samba user "pcguest" doesnt have a password but the linux user "pcguest" does. The folder I would like to share to windows is /home/pcguest/LServer. I can see it on the windows machine sometimes. Of course I have changed so many things that that comes and goes. No matter what I have done, I can't get into the folder. Any help what so ever would be much appreciated.

First things First
Well, I can see (maybe) two issues:
1- FC4. Did you enable SELinux? If so, disable it. It has caused nothing but headaches with Samba. You might want to see if Fedora fixed that bug or not before doing so, however.
2- You might want to add this line to your smb.conf file under your public folder:
force user = {owner of file}
Try those two things. Also, make sure you restart samba. I believe that the command must be issued from the init.d directory, but the command is: service smb restart . That should restart Samba for you.
Let us know if this works or if you have any more issues.
