Samba doesn't work on FC4

Hi!

I've an old laptop with Win 98SE installed and my PC with Fedora 4 and Win XP. The problem is: if I start XP, the laptop sees it in the network and the PC sees the laptop. But if I run Fedora, the laptop sees it, but can't communicate with it. Fedora doesn't see anything.

I've SWAT installed and it says that smbd and nmbd aren't running. But my Services application tells me they're running! What is here wrong? Please help me!

i do not use swap but can u figure out with konsole way

/home/rou#ps awx|grep bd
74 ? S 0:00 [khubd]
2081 ? Ss 0:00 smbd -D
2083 ? S 0:00 smbd -D
2084 ? Ss 0:24 nmbd -D

if u can see like this mean your samba is running
ignore the first line "[khubd]"

about comunication is about samba access
look at your smb.conf file , each change u made, restart samba server

I've changed my ethernet card mode to trusted and SWAT and ps are saying me that smbd and nmbd work! Thanks for help.
