Samba can see folder but not open it

I have a desktop running ubuntu 12.04,
and a laptop runnung the same.
I was not able to open Documents folder on desktop
from the laptop.(Message = folder not accessable)
I was able to open other shared folders.

I used testparm -s command
It showed Documents as guest only = yes
It turns out there was a syntax error in smb.conf
A square bracket was missing in name of the share following
Documents ,which confused samba.

Samba can see folder but not open it

the directory you want to access needs appropriate access permissions regardless of what your samba share config says
