Samba & XP invalid password

Hi everyone:

i am having problems with samba with windows xp. when i try to access a share from the linux server utilizing my xp computer (for the first time after restarting), i get an "invalid password" error message. i then retype my username and password and everything works well for all shares until i restart again, when i have to go through the same process.

i currently have encrypted passwords set to on, and i have no problems with my windows me and windows 98 computers, so i don't believe it has anything to do with passwords not being encrypted. i have looked through a number of books for a solution and cannot come up with one. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Paul
