Samba and Windows XP file sharing

I have a Samba Server and both XP and Windows98 client logged in.
Now I have a problem in file sharing.

When I open a file (excel or word) with XP, after working and saving I
receive an advise with "Want to save as a copy o write on same file?"

This option doesn't appear on Windows98 client.

Could you help me in disactiving this option in XP?

thanks in advance
Roby

I think this is actually some sort of a "feature" with MS Excel. I remember reading about this. Looks more like a bug to me. I don't rememeber ever finding a way to deactivate that. But you might want to just try copying your excel file to your computer first and working off a local copy.
