Samba and win2k active directory
 

Ok

I know that this has been asked a million times before :P but I am in search of a definitive guide of how to install linux with smb to connect to a w2k active directory I| have followed many guides on the net but none of them work for me :/ I get stuck at the point where I have to join the active directory and get a kdc error it worked browsing shares at one time but when I rebooted i couldnt anymore, telling me its probably a daemon not running.. but I still couldnt join the AD at that time.

So I really need a guide from start to finish if any1 has any links to this please tell me where or email it to me unforgivn@webmail.co.za

After that is done I will have to make samba the PDC :P so after that he real problems start ;)

Okay well.. here is a bit more information
I'm getting closer ;P
My problem was my realm part in the /etc/krb5.conf was all in lower letters not capitals so that kinda messed things up. but now...
there seems to be a problem when running net ads join -U administrator , it tells me that net ads server is an unknown parameter .. is my net command an old one maybe???
same with net ads join :/
