Samba and redhat 9.0 firewall to windowz ME

I was wondering if somebody could email me thier iptables or rc.firewall that they use for running samba on redhat 9 with windowz ME.

I have trouble understanding how to adjust my iptables to allow samba traffic. I can ping my redhat box from me and i can ping ME box from redhat with iptables stopped. But im lame about fixing firewall to allow samba to communicate thru firewall..

Please help...

Check out
The Unofficial Samba HOWTO
You can also get to this via

It has iptables entries for samba.

ping uses ICMP protocol

# Allow pings (required according to RFC1122).
iptables -A INPUT -i eth1 -p ICMP -j ACCEPT

You should limit the
types of ICMP packets allowed for security reasons.

Hope this helps.
