Samba & NT4

I am haveing a small hicup accessing a samba share from a NT4 machine. Even though the the NT4 machine has booted up with the correct name & password, when I try to connect to the share, it pops up with a box asking me to enter the password. If I do, It works connects fine. How can I stop the dialog box popping up?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Are you trying to connect from NT4 to samba share OR from your linux system to NT4 share?

Is the RedHat machine set up as the domain controller (security=user and domain logons allowed) and is the NT4 machine logged on to the samba domain?
If not, then the credentials you logged in with do not actually get passed to the Samba server at all, hence the password prompt.
