SAMBA and LINUX File Permissions

I have a couple of questions:

1 - When using Samba, as a PDC, are permissions to files or folders controlled under smb.conf and with chmod under linux?

2 - How do you in linux assign multiple groups to a file or folder using linux?

2 - : You use ACL. Most journilized filesystems (and some others) provide this feature; at least I saw that in the kernel options last time I compiled one.

Yves.

Here's a tutorial on ACL's for linux. Applies to any distro.
