Samba 3 and NTLMv2 authentication
We are in the process of converting from a NT Domain with RedHat Enterprise Linux servers running Samba (v3.0.6) for file access to an Active Directory domain (Windows 2003). Corporate wants us to only have NTLMv2 authentication. I'm not sure how to configure this on the samba servers. The Samba 3 HOW-TO only says to hack the registry on the Window XP boxes, which is wholly unhelpful unless it is turned on by default on the Linux side. On my test Windows XP box, I tried changing myauthentication level to "Send NTLMv2 only" and could not connect to anyLinux shares. Any ideas? Thanks for any pointers.
Ciao
