samba 3.05 - osx - files get lost, when copied

have a system with rh 8 2.4.18 on a server with samba 3.05

every now an then (cannot see a regular pattern) users try to save a file on the server. the server tells them, that the file is in use (of course, the are editing it at the moment!). after this, the server deletes the file on the server, without asking...??? server has worked perfektly nearly a whole week now..

have checked the logs, the affected files have the following logs:

[2004/09/16 09:10:17, 2] smbd/close.c:close_normal_file(228)
swr closed file AG (RZ)/._15ml_AG (numopen=6)
[2004/09/16 09:10:17, 2] smbd/open.c: open_file(240)
SWR opened file AG (RZ)/15ml_AG read=Yes write=No (numopen=7)

SWR opened file AG (RZ)/._temp0 read=Yes write=No (numopen=7)

rite=No (numopen=7)

the first two entries represent the files the were deleted, the other temp files i am not sure where they come from.

had another problem with spaces at end of files. changed all filenames on server, but the problem persisted. with some files.

thanks everybody
