Samba 3.0.7 Errors As PDC

Hello,

I have followed the guide on Samba.org for setting up Samba as a PDC.
The first problem I run into is the passdb backend, I currently have it set to tbdsam, when I execute smbpasswd -a -m winxp to add my Windows XP Pro machine it gives me

Code:

No builtin nor plugin backend backend for tbdsam found 
Loading tbdsam failed! 
Failed to open passdb

This leads me to think something is wrong. Im using Samba 3.0.7 package from LinuxPackages.net for Slackware 10.

Any help would be great.

post your smb.conf file to paint a clearer picture

My smb.conf is configured as follows and was setup according to the samba.org guide on setting up a PDC.
