Samba 3.0.10 getting Auth failure

I'm running the latest Yellow dog linux and Mandriva on another machine. My file server is Mac OSX 10.3.

I am able to mount the OSX share fine on the mandriva box wich is samba 3.0.13 but i get an authentication failure on the yellow dog machine. I think for some reason the yellow dog machine is not sending the username and passwords properly. Does anyone have any ideas?
