running MRTG with a webserver and database?
hi there,
i have been toggling around with the mrtg setup and finally got it to work on my laptop computer. its on a LAN which is just measuring its own bandwidth consumption. i used the laptop's IP address to refernce the mrtg.
1. i wud like to know if i can possibly setup an mrtg server incorporating a web server and a database that can allow my different computers to log in and check their respective traffic per system?
2. can i use my system to monitor our linuxbox server that has another IP on our network and get the traffic analysis?
3. on the linuxbox server on the network, it is configured to have a DHCP, caching dns server, squid proxy and nat/iptables. it also configured as a bandwidth manager. its quite tiresome to calculate the exact bandwidth being used at a time (this is besides using mrtg).i learnt there are some certain scripts that one can find that will help calculate the do all the conversion and maths and give u the exact summary by running the script. pls if u know of a script, i dont mind thx
reply needed thanks
