Running Fetchmail on IpCop Server?

I currently have 3 Servers running in my home. I have an ipcop server running for my firewall, and I have a linux server which used to house my email. I am currently in the process of installing windows 2003 server small business edition so that I can gain some more exchange 2003 experience (Im a network admin/analyst and need the experience).

In addition to my 3 servers, I have 4 computers running all day as well.. 2 Apples and 2 PCs.

I dont want all of that electricity running and the only way for me to use exchange for our household mail is to have something like fetchmail running and tossing the mail into exchange. I dont want a computer running all day where its only purpose is to get mail every 3 minutes and move it to exchange. I want to put fetchmail on ipcop.

Is this possible? Or is there something else I need to do.

thanks

NF.

Based on your requirements, you are probably going to have to re-configure your current mail server MTA to relay all "fetched" mail to your Exchange server instead of delivering to the local mailbox. This is easliy done with sendmail using the mailertable feature or with postfix using the transport table. At least when your Exchange server is turned off, mail will still be queued for later delivery. i.e. Like issuing an ETRN from the Exhcnage sever or manually releasing the queued mail using the supplied queue management commands for your MTA software.
