Runnig out of networking solutions for Linux

Okay. I am in a bit of trouble with Linux and networking. The 4 wireless cards I have access to aren't compatible with Linux. I would like to hack together a driver for one of them, but that will have to wait for now. THat takes out wireless as a choice for internet access, and my second choice would be ethernet, but my dad isn't allowing me to do this because the cables would have to travel from the basement to my room on the second story. As you can see, there really isn't any possibility of networking for me. However, I do know that I will be getting a Linux PDA soon, and if I get a wireless card for that, could I sync it up to my computer and gain internet access from that?

There is already an 802.11b network in my house. I want to know if I can use the handheld to gain internet access, and then transfer it to my PC via USB.

No problem.

Get one of these:

Wireless Ethernet Bridge

You can plug your computer's NIC right into this device, and it will appear to the machine as a physical connection to the router. No drivers or special setup is required.

P.S.

What Linux PDA are you getting? I am looking for a good one myself.

Sweet. We have a Linksys wireless network, so that should work nicely. Right now, I am thinking about getting a Sharp Zaurus PDA. They look like the main Linux PDA maker. If not, I guess I might find a PDA and see if I can install Linux on it instead of Windows.

I just want to make sure of this: The WET11 is compatible with Linux. I just don't want to buy another wireless card. Do all of them work? I am thinking about getting a D-Link wireless ethernet bridge instead.
