Rt2570 driver
Hi
I recently installed ubuntu 8.10 X86-64 version and I tried to install the Rt2570 driver in place of the rt2500usb driver built into the linux kernel.
I ran all 300 updates after installing and now I have a new kernel version.
I don't know if any of this is relevent to my problem but I think it might help.
The built in rt2500usb driver works fine with my card but I wanted to try the rt2570 driver in place of it.
When I tried to build the modules it said it could not complete the installation and gave me the option to skip the failed process and continue the installation which I did.
Now I'm not sure if it installed properly because when I type modprobe rt2570 or insmod rt2570 nothing happens. I'm not even sure if that's the right command am I missing something out?
There is a folder in src called modules with another folder in called rt2570 but I don't know if everything is installed right is that all there needs to be? Which file in there do I need to load and how?
How do I load any modules?
I installed the Rt2570 package using synaptic and then I ran the module-assistant commands as the README.debian commands said.
Please help.
