Routing the dial-up connection
Good afternoon,
I use a small lan for practice. Last month I uninstalled my microsoft OS and I'm looking forward to do my job using Linux. I configured a small db for BIND so now I need to route my internet connection from dial-up connection --> ethernet. I have 3 machines. A small description of the network...
Ethernet 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0
Machine(A) eth0 : 192.168.0.1 --> ppp0 : dynamic from ISP debian3(PC)
Machine(B) eth0 : 192.168.0.3 --> winxp (brother's machine) (PC)
Machine(C) eth0 : 192.168.0.10 --> mandrake9.2 (laptop)
What I need to do is to connect (A) through a dial-up connection(ppp0) to the internet, so giving a simple gateway to the other machines I want to have internet for the lan.
ISP 62.38.xxx.xxx
/\
| (ppp0)
\/
Machine(A) 62.38.xxx.xxx (255.255.255.255) - 192.168.0.1(255.255.255.0)
/\
| (eth0)
\/
Machine(B,C) 192.168.0.3(255.255.255.0) ,192.168.0.10 (255.255.255.0)
I'm not sure if this is possible! I'm completely newbie but I want to learn as much I can for this OS for networking.
Thank you,
