Routing in RH 8.0

i need help geting routing in redhat 8.0 to work some people have suggested that the possable problem is my firewall is set to high but it will not letme reset the firewall for anything lower than then highest setting, i go in and change it but then it claims it rewrites the old config but no changes are made, my setup is a linux rh 8.0 box with two network cards in it, i have gotten RH to see and activate both network cards but now i need to be able to make one network card get a net connection from my dsl modem, then my other network card to route the connection to a switch i have setup betweene my router and then several servers..

well if you ahve ANYTHING that would help me please respond, or email me at admin@nurvsoftware.net thanks for your time and i hope to get this fixed soon

If you want to remove your fireall rules then try:
iptables -F

If you are refferig to lokkit then it has a problem remembering settings and always defaults to hich when it is run.

If you are trying to set up linux a router for the rest of your network then you need to follow one of the many tutorials such as the ones on:
http://www.netfilter.org
