Routing in Redhat 7.1

Any help is appreciated.

We are configuring an alpha internet server running redhat 7.1 to function as a router/firewall. Both of the NICs are properly configured and we are able to access the net from the router. Our client machines however, are still unable to get out. The client machines are able to ping both the internal and external NICs.

We used the netcfg to configure routing by checking the Ipv4 routing box and entering in the routes from the internal address to the external. Is a 0.0.0.0 route necessary? what routes are necessary to allow clients through or is it a firewall issue?

thanks
laurali
