Thats great news. All you need to do is to set the DNS servers to be used by the PC. Edit:
/etc/resolv.conf

Delete/change any nameserver entries to use the DNS servers of your ISP. eg:
nameserver ip.add.re.ss

Where ip.add.re.ss is the IP of your ISPs DNS server.

hello,

i've changed 10.0.0.138 in the file /etc/resolv.conf by 194.134.5.55 but it still not working i dont no dns is running on my system i dont think so but can you help me

Which system did you change it on? Both of them?

Can you ping 194.134.5.55 from both machines?

ive changed it on the linux server

by telnetting it from the windows pc

so there is only one linux machine

Sorry - I thought they were both linux.

You need to make 194.134.5.55 the DNS server that your windows system uses.

Yu can leave the linux box the way it is though.

i have changed the file /etc/resolv.conf in the orginal .

and fill in the primaire and secundaire dns in windows in network enviroment but it still not work i can ping the both dns servers and when i type the ip adress insteath of the www.xx adress internet works??

What windows version are you using? Have you restarted the windows machine?

So whn you look at:
Local Area Connection -> Properties -> TCP/IP Properties -> Advanced -> DNS

The only thing listed is the ISPs DNS?

What happens when you look at:
http://64.179.4.146/
in your browser - do you see LQ.org?

yes that link to the site works almost perfect not everything is loaded

i've cleared my cache and the site http://64.179.4.146/ works but not http://www.linuxquestions.org

i've checked all the steps and the dns adress is fillt in correct

but email and msn messenger is also not working??

can you help me ?

It is definately a DNS issue - try a different DNS server.
