Routers Not Communicating

I solved this. For the benefit of others however, I'm posting here. I had the weirdest problem with my routers just yesterday. The routers were not communicating. I checked the setup of them, and they were fine. In order to check both setups, I had to put myself on the inside and outside. There was not an outage of Internet.

It was almost as if they just weren't getting addresses from the DHCP server, but then I found that it was only routers connected to that router, and all devices behind it.

I began to realize it was more or less, a hardware problem. I first tried to replace some cords, with know other good cords. That didn't solve the problem. I was suspecting that there was simply bad ports, although lights were working as they were supposed to.

Finally got the idea to power off and on the switches. Fixed the issue. Although I have seen a switch last from 2005 'til now, I was surprised as these have been working without needing that since I plugged them in. The only issue had been that the power has gone off before at different times. Other than that, they have been running non-stop all the time.

Just wanted to document this here, so that it may help others.
