Router Question

Hi,

I am about to buy a Netgear ProSafe VG318 Wireless VPN FireWall - 108Mbps, 802.11g, 8-Port.

I have a 10/100 24 port unmanaged network switch. I have (1) cPanel/WHM server connected to that network switch, If i connect this router to the network switch, will it block ports/connections from the server and etc, since it does have a firewall.

THE LINK FOR THE ROUTER IS BELOW
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...274&CatId=2667

This is a really important issue for me and if you could please assist me. Thank you

Connections from the server to where? The toy firewall there is just a NAT router, so will still allow outbound access just from it. so connections *from* the boxes behind it will be fine. you won't be able to get *to* it without configuration though.

hi robert,

i think yes - it will by default blocking your internet access to your webserver unless you have configure your firewall to allow access in NAT rules.

your firewall manual is your best friend

HTH.
