RH9 pppoe?

Could someone help me get pppoe running in RH9? Ive followed the adsl-setup questions and it tells me everything went fine , but when I type adsl-start it hangs for a minute then gives me some /dev/null error. Any ideas on what is going on?
Ive checked all the cable connections so Im pretty sure everything is connected.
