RH8 and Netgear MA311

Well first of all I am a complete newbie, just installed redhat for the first time yesterday. I got everything installed and now i want to get my Netgear MA311 wireless card working. I downloaded the Orinoco Dirvers (dont even know if i need them, but did it anyway), and i can see my card under network devices. its on eth1 while my onbard wired ethernet is on eth0. I ran the "/sbin/modprobe orinoco_pci" command in a new terminal, but didn't see any feedback so i assume it worked, then i went to edit "etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1" but i didn't see it there, tried it in terminal and it couldn't find it.
Could someone please help me. I am a complete newbie so i might require detailed explanations.

Thnx in Advance

Heya Lucifer,
Okay, you've downloaded the current Orinoco driver, Correct? Pretty much all you have to do is (in console) type: "su" then your root password, "neat" after you log in as root (through console), this should bring up a window called "Network Configuration", in there go to the Devices Tab -> Add... -> click "Wireless Connection" -> and the "orinoco_pci" driver should be listed. Click Ok, and go through the steps to configure the card for your WAP (wireless access point), when all is said and done, make sure to click on the option to activate the wireless card on startup if you go ahead and "Edit" the wireless device back in the Devices Tab.

Almost done....

Now, go back to console and type in (while still root) $:gedit /etc/modules.conf and add a new line to the bottom which says "alias eth* (*=whatever device you set your wiress at; ie eth0) orinoco_pci"

Save this file, reboot your box, and you should be up and running. I hope this (brief) tutorial was of some help. Post here again if you need some additional assistance.

Good Luck!
