RH6.2 & Mdk8.0 Networking Woes
Hello.
I've set-up an RH6.2 machine as IP_MASQ server (I went with ipchains as there are some IP_MASQ add-ons that I wanted but aren't ported to iptables yet)
IP_MASQ server is running 3Com ISA 509 NIC and it configured for PPP demand dialing (which isn't quite working right but that's another question.)
My machine when booted into Windows NT or Windows 95 with TCP/IP setting pointing the IP_MASQ machine as a gateway work fine. But when I'm booted into Mandrake 8.0 I can't even ping between the two Linuxes. I've tried everything I can think of. Disabled firewalls, put ips in hosts files, checked, checked, checked again the network wires, etc.
Any ideas? I'm at my whits end. The only thing I can thing to do is to format my linux partion(s) and re-install Mandrake 7.2, but I really like 8.0.
Thanks,

The way I read it is that your net modules aren't loading in your Drake client machine. If the Win box can use the firewall then the Linux box should be able to as well. Check your network config and confirm that your hardware is happening.

I'm open to suggestions on how to do this. The output of ifconfig, the output of insmod, etc all look impecable. I'm at a loss as to how the network modules or config are problem, unless I'm missing something important.
