rh 7.2 + pcmcia-cs trouble
Hi there, linux gurus!
I've been banging my forehead on this one for a couple of days now. Hope someone can steer me to the light...
I installed stock redhat 7.2 on an ibm thinkpad t22, installed kernel sources, pcmcia-cs-3.1.31 and linux-wlan-0.1.10 sources.
Built the kernel from the default rh .config, removing the kernel pcmcia support. Built pcmcia-cs and linux-wlan - so far so good. Installed everything, updated grub etc.
I boot into my newly minted 2.4.7-10custom and have no pcmcia suppot...
/etc/init.d/pcmcia start produces a bunch of errors. The first says that yenta_socket module cannot be located... The second one says init_module cannot be performed on ds.o and gives a Hint about possibly incorrect module parameters or IRQ settings...
In dmesg output, I note the following: "ds: no socket drivers loaded"...
The strange thing is that I had this config working fine on my old Thinkpad.. I just don't remember anymore what hoops I had to jump through...
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Ilya
