RTNETLINK answers: Operation not possible due to RF-kill
I tried to get rid of rfkill. I still get a message interfering! Any ideas? I was able to restart wired network with dhclient p5p1.

thanks,

HI -

I tried these commands but I still get operation not permitted:

wpa_supplicant -Dwext -iwlan0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
rfkill: WLAN hard blocked
rfkill: WLAN hard blocked

I still don't understand how rfkill is printing out when I uninstalled it.

I will check back later on today. I have to get 2 hours sleep.

thx.

hi-

I solved this problem. Everything I read said it was hardware blocking and I needed to flip a switch. I looked but couldn't see one because of the lighting and my poor eye sight. I found a sony diagram and once I saw the numbers I got out an LED flashlight and found the tiny switch.

I should have went the manual route sooner. If anyone runs into this in the future I found a manual here http://docs.esupport.sony.com/pc/VPC...s on the front

Anyway....

Cancelada. Problem solved!

thx.
