restrict internet bandwidth using squid

Hi...

I already have a squid proxy server running which is pooling internet bandwidth of 2 ISPs and offering them to corporate users but without any restriction as such...Some users start huge downloads which chokes up the internet speed during peak hours....I want to restrict internet bandwidth especially available for download, based on IP through squid......In fact even at home, my ISP has implemented IP based bandwidth restriction to 3.6 Kbps, so my download speed never exceeds this rate at any given point of time....

Is there any easy how-to or a tutorial on how to implement IP based bandwidth restriction ?? pls suggest..

You will want to create a delay pool to restrict bandwidth, and then create ACL’s to assign hosts to the delay pool. I found this document describing the process well using Webmin to configure the Squid proxy: http://www.pcquest.com/content/linux/103080904.asp
