Restrict computer to LAN

The LAN has a Linux Box and a Win 10 computer. Is it possible to allow the windows machine onto the LAN, say for access to a printer, but not allow it to access the internet?

What kind of Linux-based router to you have between the legacy system and the rest of the LAN? If it is running OpenWRT or anything similar then you can then isolate the one machine easily.

I have Linksys WRT54G v8. Not running Open WRT. Don't know if v8 can run Open WRT. I will consider installing Open WRT if I can find a backup router for just in case. Any other routers that can do the job?

Hmm I have several WRT54G's that work on the LAN but won't connect to the Internet. Maybe I can somehow use one in conjunction with the LAN.

PfSense would also have the flexibility to do that.

So would generic OpenBSD with PF. Same for any GNU/Linux distro with NFTables.

Thinking about it a bit more, if you are looking at extra hardware PfSense and OpenWRT have lists of supported hardware which you can compare to the inventory of your local shops. Or you could even buy a single-board computer with two Ethernet ports to stand in between the legacy system and the LAN. For wireless, a simple Raspberry Pi 3B+ would be more than enough to stand in as a base station and the legacy system could connect via it.

Remove gateway ip address from windows.

A better way is a dedicated lan.
