restarting Apache
How do you restart the Apache httpd services ?

not sure what distro you're using, but in Slackware I go to the the /var/lib/apache/sbin directory and issue the following command:
./apachectl start

if its already running you can also issue apachectl stop
then apachectl start but usually restart after the command will do the trick...

RH 7.1
If you have RH 7.1 and if you have the apache the system installed for you, You have to use
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start
that to start, stop, restart, and lookup the status of the apache.

That was what I needed.
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start
works fine
