response timeout by snmp agent

Hi all,

I am quite new to snmp.
I started my snmpd agent by running the command - `snmpd -l -L`.
After that I executed the command `snmpwalk -v 1 localhost -c public`.
It worked fine & gave me the complete output.

Now I want to run this command for some remote system.
For that I appended this line to my snmpd.conf file :
com2sec mynetwork public
as i wanted to contact

I also editted snmpd.conf file of system and included the line
com2sec mynetwork public
as ip of my system is
the ips are statically assigned.

after that i restarted the snmp agents on both the systems.
then i executed the command 'snmpwalk -v 1 -c public`.
but it gave response timeout..
both the systems can ping each other then why am i gettin the problem
