resolv.conf gets modified when dialing...


hi,

when i use:
/sbin/isdnctrl dial ippp0

my /etc/resolv.conf gets modified... but i want to use my own DNS server, which has some more entries for the intranet...

how can i disable this?

Edit the ifcfg-ppp0 script and make sure that you dont see a line that says:
PEERDNS="yes"

If you see that change it to


PEERDNS="no"

Also make sure that "usepeerdns" isnt in your /etc/ppp/options file. If it is remove it.
Also if this is a suse box make sure that there isnt some strange environment variable being set in /etc/sysconfig to contron this behavior. Its been my experience with suse that the environment variables set by default can sometimes hinder its operation.
If the above doesnt work, post there is something else we can do.
