Requesting Networking Advice
Hi gang,
Late this past winter, I set up a Fedora Linux box at work, mainly as an internet terminal, as a low-cost way to get the business up to date with the ability to open MS Office & other documents sent to us from customers. My boss liked Fedora Core II & the associated open source software so much, he has asked me to set up a small Linux network. The thing is, I've never set up a Linux network before so I'm here to hopefully benefit from your experiences.
I have set up a few simple networks in the past: Appletalk, Apple Ethernet and an old Lantastic Ethernet.
What I want to do is set up the existing FC2 box (PIII-500) along with two other FC2 boxes (PIII-600), all with Dosbox installed, and let them have access to an AMD K6 running Win 98. We have a DOS jobshop program & associated data files (shipping & receiving type software) that I want to allow the FC2 boxes access to with the aid of Dosbox.
How difficult is it to get FC2 to talk to Win 98? I see that FC2 can be installed with some form of Windows networking support. What pitfalls should I expect?
Thanks in advance for any help you all can offer!
