Replacing ISA network card
I have this problem is one my the linux server that I 'm currently working on. The machine has an ISA network card installed. The moment i take that card out of that machine and boot up, the boot up process would only go quarter or half way and then it hangs.
So i have to have that ISA network card in. The problem is, i figure that the card is faulty. I want to replace it with another card. I tried taking the ISA card out and replacing it with a PCI card, but the same thing happens. The machine would boot up, the boot up process would only go quarter or half way and then it hangs.
So i have to have the ISA card back in that machine in order for the machine to boot up properly. I even tried changing the ISA card with another ISA card, but still it work boot up. I think I 'm using Red Hat 6.0 or 5.2. How do you get around this problem? Thanks.
