rename workgroup
 

My Windows network is on "Workgroup" I just installed RH 9 and when I look at netwoork the Server is on "Mygroup" were do i go to change that?

You will want to get samba running on your system for your windows network to pick it up... You'll also be able to share out folders on your linux machine....

the file /etc/samba/smb.conf contains a line called
workgroup = mygroup
change it to workgroup as that is the name you want
save exit
then type
service smb restart
