Remotely login to linux over internet.

OK my linux server is @ home and my computer is at my girlfriends place, with me :).

What I want to do is to login from my windows computer here to my linux server @ home. I need something similar to the file manager of webmin. So I need to access all of my files. I need to download some programs from my server I need, and I tried webmin, but webmin is to slow and doesn't give me a free hand in what I'm doing.

Now I know that here is such a program because I have used it for school once, but I forgot the name of the program.

I think it was something with abc or 123, bit I'm not sure anymore. Any other similar program will also do.

I tried WinNc, but I cannot use it to login to my server as root.

If you're looking for command line only use SSH.

If you want to access your X desktop use VNC.

(note: those are only my recommendations, feel free to look elsewhere, but I found those to be the best apps for the job).

Cheers
