Remote X login on RH 9.0 machine

Hello There,
I have RH 9.0 running on my office machine. I wish to log onto that machine in X windows mode. I know something like VNC exists. The local machine has Win XP as well as RH 9.0 running on it.
I am relatively new to linux on this aspect. The only way I know of is ssh, which is going to be of little use as all the work that I wish to do needs X.
Is there a way I can do this. I mean can I work as if I was on the office machine, with everything being/appearing the same(same desktop, feel and touch) in windows/linux on my local machine.
I would greatly appreciate any help/advice in this regard. A google search on VNC has not been much helpful to me.

regards,
amit.

You need to install the vnc server package on your redhat machine.
then get the vncviewer for the other machine here: http://www.realvnc.com/download.html or from you distro install cds
and install it on the client machine.

you can just start vncserver on the remote machine without any options (default)
"vncserver -h" should help you along further

connect to the remote machine with "vncviewer" enter server ip:1 in the dialog that pops up and click o.k.

and you should atleast be on your way.
