I have a router and webserver in one place, now I live a long way away and am wondering if theres away to login to my dlink g604t to check the port forwarding settings and update the firmware.

I used to have vnc on both machines and it was easy to do from an internet browser/vnc. now i need a text solution as vnc-server does not seem to be running on the remote machine, but http works fine.

is this possible with a console browser like lynx or am i lookin at a bit of messin around with the remote linux box ???

any insight helpful

ps i used lynx (linux http consol prog) and manage to get past authentication, then says 'bad partial reference' and strpping leadin dots, then blank with just the menu ???

How about ssh access to your router? If you don't have any other tools already installed for web-based access such as webmin, can't see another way. There might be a problem with the box itself though if it's responding to requests properly.
