Remote Installation Issues
I have created an MS-DOS 7.1 (Win98 DOS) bootdisk. This disk starts up CD-ROM support, and loads my network card driver, and starts up the NetBEUI protocol.
After everything is done loading, I am able to map to a share on the network, and run autoboot.bat from any of the 3 RedHat directories I have on the server.
When I do this with RedHat 8, I am successful in getting the installation to launch. When I try RedHat 9 or 7.3, the system locks up after starting some services before the installer takes over.
The last few lines I get before the system locks up are:
PCI: Found IRQ 9 with 00:1d.2
PCI: Sharing IRQ 9 with 00:1f.1
PCI: Sharing IRQ 9 with 02:02.0
usb-uhci.c: USB UHCI at I/O 0xec00, IRQ 9
usb-uhci.c: Detected 2 ports
usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 4
Both RH9 and 7.3 seem to lock up at the same point, but RH8 flys on by and works great.
What could be the problem here?
Thanks,
Erik
